VISITING SCIENTIST POSITIONS IN PAMU
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the recruitment of two (02) Visiting Scientists purely on temporary basis to carry out full time collaborative research work with one or more Faculty Member(s) of the Physics and Applied Mathematics Unit (PAMU), Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The candidates' field of research must have overlap with any of the thrust areas of research in PAMU, namely, Condensed Matter Physics, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, Fluid Dynamics, Nonlinear Dynamics, High Energy Physics and Quantum Information. Qualifications |

Candidates should have good academic record and demonstrated evidence of research through publications and have recently completed their Ph.D. in Physics/ Applied Mathematics from a reputed University. Those who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting Ph.D. degree may also apply. |

Pay |
: |
Consolidated monthly emolument of ₹ 32,500/- (Rupees thirty two thousand five hundred only) to ₹ 52,000/- (Rupees fifty two thousand only), depending on the qualification and experience. No other allowances will be provided. |

Tenure of appointment |
: |
The appointment will be initially for a maximum period of three months starting from the date of his/her joining the Institute, which may be terminated earlier/ extended further depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidate. |

Age |

Should not exceed 32 years as on 01 July 2022 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/differently abled candidates. |
Eligible and interested candidates should send a letter of request addressing to the Director of the Institute with a forwarding note from the Faculty Member(s) of PAMU with whom they intend to work. The applicant must quote the announcement number in the letter. The candidates should also send their detailed CV, which is required to include (a) Name (In block letters), (b) Permanent/Present Address, (c) E-mail Address, (d) Telephone/ Mobile No., (e) Parent’s/Spouse’s Name, (f) Date of birth, (g) Academic Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination starting from 10th class), (h) Experience (if any), (i) Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ Pan Card, (j) SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled status along with original and self attested copies of all documents/testimonials (k) List of publications along with a brief research proposal (500 words), and justifications (300 words) for conducting collaborative research, (l) a forwarding note from the Faculty Member(s) of PAMU with whom they intend to work.
